It’s the reason that I’m a photographer and it’s one of the best parts about being a person. The best way that I have found to tell stories is through images.
Photos become the tools to help us hold and understand the most important parts of ourselves. Wedding and family photos are passed down in families for generations. With quality photo journalism you will feel what it was like to be in a a time or place.

In wedding photography that is what I do. Each wedding day contains its own story but is also a key node a key point in your story. Together I’ll make sure it’s captured.

In short, no.
All my wedding packages include a portrait session. Time to get comfortable together, learn about each other, and practice a few poses is really beneficial. Wedding day can be fast and chaotic. We will be wrangling relatives, posing grandpa, and working to keep to a schedule. You want to know what is coming and I want you to feel comfortable and like we are a team!
It helps me as much as you, and you can use your photos in wedding collateral. For that reason, if you waive the engagement shoot I do not typically offer a discount.

Not at all! However, we do need a plan.
If you do not have a planner we will make sure to come up with one together – even for small, informal weddings. I meet with my couples at least two times before a wedding. We come up with a shot list, agenda, and cover any other details I need to know.
I can also recommend great planners local to the Chaffee County.
I charge an extra $300 for surprise engagements because of the logistic and the skill required to “get it right”.
I typically coordinate in advance, making sure I am in an agreed upon place where you intend to propose. I then capture the moment, your partner’s reaction, and a couple’s portrait session with the two of you. Here is an example.

I love small weddings, weird weddings, fancy weddings, or anything out of the ordinary.
Yes. People of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and identities are welcome! Period.
I’ll go pretty much anywhere within the limitations of my availability. I love shooting portraits on location. People doing things they already like to do makes for the most authentic photos. I think that gets the best results in the end.
Usually about a month for a large photo set. Maybe 2 weeks for something smaller.
My #1 rule is I only deliver what I love. I promise a certain number of images, but almost always deliver above that number.
For an all day wedding, that is about (8-12 hrs), expect a minimum of 300-400 photos delivered in an organized digital gallery.
For portraits that number would be closer to 15-30 photos.
For races and events it really depends on the objective. Usually however it is around 150-200 images.
I do not allow clients to choose unprocessed photos.
At the end of the day I’m pretty lucky. I’m a photographer because I want to be not because I have to be. It means that I have a little bit of wiggle room to accommodate a variety of budgets if appropriate. Yes. Typically at least half the full cost of my work with the full amount due prior to photo delivery.
Within 3hrs of Buena Vista, Colorado there is no travel cost. Otherwise it is case dependent and based on a ¢70 per mile rate.
I only work weekends so key dates can book out fast!

On location, 8hrs of service. 300+ deliverable digital photos. Includes 2hr engagement/portrait session prior to wedding

On location, includes all surprise planning and logistics required in case of surprise engagements.
- Portrait or Family Sessions $400
2hrs, on location, minimum 15 deliverable quality photos. Includes planned (not surprise) engagement photos.
- Senior Photos & Headshots $200
1 hr session within Chaffee County - 10-15 deliverables.
